Stephanie Corbin
Behind those mystifying eyes and tantalizing smile is Stephanie Corbin, the exceptional vocalist who isn’t afraid to show a little attitude. True to herself and her music, Corbin’s passion flows through her songs with emotion and electricity.
With her determinations and carefree spirit, Stephanie Corbin has been catapulted into the Nashville music scene, where there is no solid definition of what true country music really is. As contemporary country shies away from steel guitars and twin fiddles, Corbin reminds us of what country music is about with a twang that captures your heart and a hint of bluegrass that fills your soul. Influenced by artists Vince Gill, Crystal Gayle, Dolly Parton, Sara Evans, Rhonda Vincent, George Jones, The Dixie Chicks, Sonya Isaccs, and Patsy Cline, Stephanie’s traditional sound will keep you humming all day.
Stephanie was born and raised in Villa Hills, Kentucky, a city just 10 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio. This Kentuckian’s country music roots dig deep, as musical ability runs in her blood. At an early age, she was exposed to the grandeur of country music by her grandfather, Lee Corbin. A gifted musician who played nearly every instrument, the multi-talented Lee made numerous appearances on local radios stations near Cincinnati. It was Lee who was Stephanie’s biggest influence, instilling in her the love of music and ultimately inspiring her to become a country music artist. Stephanie’s deepest love and respect for her grandfather is the reason she proudly shares the name Corbin. “My real last name isn’t Corbin. After my grandfather passed away, I decided, in honoring him, I’d use his last name since we both had the same dream of becoming a country music artist.”
Through Stephanie’s growing love for music, it wasn’t until her late teens that she realized her destiny to become a performer. She moved to Nashville in 2000 to pursue her dream and continue polishing her talents. Stephanie has studied with Renee Grant-Williams, vocal coach of Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Beyonce Knowles, and Christina Aguilera to name a few. She has also refined her musical gifts with Paul Lyman, who has since helped her hone skills on vocals, guitar, piano, and her primary instrument, the mandolin. Constantly looking to improve, she remains focused on live performance and her other passion, songwriting.
Stephanie Corbin’s unique sound has earned her well-deserved attention on music row, as she opened for high profile musicians such as Montgomery Gentry. After experiencing the alluring sweat from the spotlight and the addictive rush from the cheering crowd, Corbin remains humble. “Opening for Montgomery Gentry was an amazing experience, I can’t explain the feeling of being on stage in front of 2000 people and having them cheer for me. Between the music and the energy of the crowd, it was the most inspiring moment in my life. It all clicked and I realized that Nashville is where I belong.”
Stephanie continues to dazzle Nashville audiences several times a month with her versatile band, drawing a full house on most occasions. Her strong performances have voted her, amongst a group of talented peers, as one of Nashville’s best unsigned singer/songwriters. If traditional country with a twist of bluegrass is what you’re looking for, then you’ve come to the right place. Stephanie Corbin’s voice will remind you of why you started listing to country music in the first place!
